Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc. Expands Recall for Chicken and Pork Fried Rice, Ramen, and Shu Mai Products Due to Possible Foreign Matter Contamination
Editor’s Note: Mar. 9, 2026 – The product list in this release has been updated to reflect that products with the listed lot numbers, regardless of best-by date, are subject to the recall. View product list . View labels . WASHINGTON, March 3, 2026 – Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc., a Portland, Ore., establishment, is expanding its Feb. 19, 2026, recall of frozen not ready-to-eat (NRTE) chicken products that may be contaminated with foreign material, specifically glass , the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The establishment is recalling approximately 33,617,045 additional pounds of various ready-to-eat (RTE) and NRTE chicken and pork fried rice, ramen, and shu mai dumpling products, for a combined total of 36,987,575 pounds subject to recall. This expansion includes 16 products produced between October 21, 2024, and February 26, 2026, under brand names Ajinomoto, Kroger, Ling Ling, Tai Pei, and Trader Joe’s. The products subject to recall bear establishment number P-18356, P-18356B, or P-47971 inside the USDA mark of inspection. The items were shipped to retail locations nationwide. Certain Ajinomoto items were exported to Canada and Mexico. The problem was discovered when the establishment notified FSIS that it received multiple consumer complaints involving glass found in product. Upon further investigation, the establishment determined that a vegetable source ingredient, specifically carrots, was the likely source of the glass contamination, which also impacted the additional products subject to this expanded recall. There have been no confirmed reports of injury due to consumption of this product. Anyone concerned about an injury should contact a healthcare provider. FSIS is concerned that some product may be in retailers’ or consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, the retail distribution list(s) will be posted on the FSIS website at www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls . Members of the media with questions about the recall can contact Corporate PR at [email protected] or call (909) 477-4800. Consumers with questions about the recall can contact Consumer Affairs, Ajinomoto Foods North America, at (855) 742-5011 or email at [email protected] . Consumers with food safety questions can call the toll-free USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888-MPHotline (888-674-6854) or send a question via email to [email protected] . For consumers that need to report a problem with a meat, poultry, or egg product, the online Electronic Consumer Complaint Monitoring System can be accessed 24 hours a day at https://foodcomplaint.fsis.usda.gov/eCCF/ .

Use the Today filter when you want newly published recall alerts from the current U.S. date. If no results appear, check the last 7 or 10 days because agencies may publish updates in batches.
Recent recalls can include new notices, updated classifications, expanded lots, changed risk levels and public health alerts. Sort by newest first for the live recall feed view.
High-risk notices often involve serious injury, contamination, undeclared allergens, vehicle crash hazards, fire risks or products that should not be used or consumed.
This latest recall page combines CPSC, FDA, USDA FSIS and NHTSA data so shoppers do not need to check each agency page separately.
New alerts for toys, furniture, appliances, electronics, baby products, household goods and products with injury, choking, fire or fall hazards.
Recent FDA notices can include Class I, Class II and Class III recalls, market withdrawals, safety alerts, code information and distribution areas.
FSIS alerts cover meat, poultry and egg products, including public health alerts, undeclared allergens, pathogen risks and misbranding issues.
New vehicle, tire, equipment and child-seat campaigns include defect summaries, affected units, remedy notes and NHTSA campaign numbers.
Recent recall pages are date-driven. Use the published date and recall date to understand whether an alert is new, newly classified or recently updated.
Choose food, vehicle, medical device, baby product, electronics, household or consumer product when the latest list is too broad.
Sort by highest risk when checking for urgent problems such as contamination, serious injury hazards, undeclared allergens, fire risks or vehicle safety defects.
Use the detail page and official source link before taking action. Agency notices may include exact lot codes, model ranges, remedy steps and company contacts.
The site syncs official recall sources daily and stores updated records by source agency, dataset and official recall ID.
Some agencies publish or classify a recall after the company began the recall. Use both the published date and recall date when reviewing a notice.
Match the brand, product name, package size, UPC, lot code, best-by date, allergen or contamination issue and distribution area before taking action.
Yes. Use the risk filter or highest-risk sort to surface recalls marked critical or high risk across all official sources.
