Ignition Lock May Fail and Cause Engine Stall Recall Details

BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2024 S 1000 RR US, and 2020-2026 S 1000 RR motorcycles. The vibration of the motorcycle may cause an internal component of the ignition lock to fail, which can cause the instrument display, rear lighting, and other systems such as ABS to fail, or cause an engine stall while riding. An engine stall or failure of electrical systems such as the instrument display or ABS, increases the risk of a crash.

K&N Engineering, Inc. (K&N) is recalling certain K&N and Spectre replacement fuel filters with part numbers KN81-0300, KN81-0301, SPE-2369, SPE-2358, and SPE-6932. The O-ring in the fuel filter may disintegrate, causing a leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. In addition, pieces of the O-ring may clog the fuel lines, causing a loss of engine performance and increasing the risk of a crash.
